It could support manufacturing, technology infrastructure, and industrial investment.

Philippine Information Agency

Potential Advantages of Pax Silica

The Pros:

1. Economic Growth and Foreign Investment

Pax Silica could attract international companies and investors, creating opportunities for businesses in the Philippines.

Encourage foreign direct investment.

Support local suppliers and small businesses.

Expand manufacturing and technology industries.

Increase economic activity in Central Luzon.

Government officials have cited possible investments of $40 billion to $70 billion, although these remain projections rather than guaranteed outcomes.

Philippine News Agency

2. Employment and Skills Development

The initiative could generate jobs in engineering, information technology, manufacturing, construction, and other specialized fields.

Create employment opportunities for Filipinos.

Encourage technical training and certifications.

Strengthen partnerships between schools and industries.

Develop skills in AI, automation, and advanced manufacturing.

These opportunities could help Filipino professionals compete internationally.

3. Technological Advancement

Pax Silica could help the Philippines move beyond traditional industries by participating in higher-value technology production.

It may also encourage innovation, infrastructure development, and greater cooperation with international technology companies.

Potential Disadvantages of Pax Silica

The Cons :

1. Environmental and Resource Concerns

Advanced manufacturing facilities require substantial electricity and water resources.

Increased demand could place pressure on energy infrastructure.

Industrial operations could affect water availability.

Poor waste management could create environmental risks.

Agricultural activities could be affected if resources are not managed properly.

Government agencies say the project can be supported without harming existing community water supplies, but researchers and residents have called for independent assessments.

Philippine News Agency

2. Possible Impact on Local Communities

Some farmers and Indigenous communities have expressed concerns about land access, displacement, and livelihood security.

Agricultural land could face development pressure.

Traditional livelihoods may be disrupted.

Some residents may lack the qualifications required for technology-related jobs.

Community participation in project planning may be insufficient.

These concerns highlight the importance of meaningful consultation and fair compensation where applicable.

CNA

3. Foreign Dependence and National Sovereignty

Foreign investment can support development, but excessive dependence on international companies may create economic and strategic risks.

The Philippines must ensure that agreements protect national laws, local businesses, and public interests.

Finding a Balanced Approach

Rather than immediately supporting or rejecting Pax Silica, policymakers should carefully examine its potential benefits and costs.

Important considerations include:

Conducting transparent environmental impact assessments.

Protecting farmers, Indigenous peoples, and affected communities.

Ensuring Filipino workers receive meaningful employment and training.

Maintaining Philippine sovereignty and regulatory authority.

Publishing investment agreements and establishing accountability measures.

Independent analysis emphasizes that the project's success will depend heavily on governance, environmental protection, and equitable distribution of benefits.

Yusof Ishak Institute

Conclusion

Pax Silica presents both opportunities and challenges for the Philippines. It could attract investment, create jobs, and strengthen the country's position in the global technology industry.

However, economic development should not come at the expense of environmental protection, community welfare, or national interests.

The central question is not simply whether Pax Silica is good or bad, but whether the Philippines can manage it responsibly and ensure that its benefits reach ordinary Filipinos.

With transparency, careful planning, and strong safeguards, the initiative could contribute to sustainable national development.

References

1. Today, many AI platforms are available, including ChatGPT, Google Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, and Claude. These tools can help us write documents, analyse information, create content, automate tasks, and solve problems.

However, with so many choices, one important question comes to mind: How do we choose the right AI platform for our needs?

Choosing the right AI platform is not about selecting the most popular or expensive tool. It is about understanding our goals, budget, technical skills, and the type of work we want to accomplish.

1. Understand Your Purpose

Before choosing an AI platform, identify what you want to achieve. Different platforms offer different capabilities.

Here are some common uses:

Education: Helping students understand lessons, practise skills, and prepare learning materials.

Business: Improving customer service, preparing reports, and automating repetitive tasks.

Content Creation: Writing articles, generating ideas, and developing marketing materials.

Programming: Assisting developers with writing, reviewing, and debugging code.

Data Analysis: Organising information, identifying patterns, and producing insights.

For example, a teacher may need AI to prepare lesson plans, while a business owner may need an AI assistant to answer customer enquiries.

The best platform depends on the task you want to complete.

2. Compare Popular AI Platforms

Several AI platforms are worth exploring.

ChatGPT

Useful for writing, brainstorming, programming, research support, and general problem-solving. It is suitable for students, professionals, and organisations.

Google Gemini

Worth considering for users working with Google's ecosystem, including Gmail, Google Docs, and other Workspace applications.

Microsoft Copilot

Useful for organisations working with Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams, depending on their subscriptions.

Claude

Another option for document analysis, writing, coding, and tasks requiring careful explanations.

No single AI platform is automatically the best for everyone. The right choice depends on your actual requirements.

3. Consider the Cost and Features

Some AI platforms offer free versions, while advanced features require subscriptions or API payments.

Before subscribing, consider these important points:

Budget: Can you afford the monthly subscription or API usage?

Features: Does the platform support your required tasks?

Speed: Can it deliver responses within an acceptable time?

Accuracy: Does it provide useful and reliable answers?

Integration: Can it connect with your existing software?

Scalability: Can it support more users as your organisation grows?

API costs may depend on the model, number of tokens processed, and additional services used. Reviewing official pricing pages helps avoid unexpected expenses.

OpenAI API

+1

4. Prioritise Data Privacy and Security

Privacy is one of the most important factors when selecting an AI platform, especially for schools, businesses, and government organisations.

Before using AI with sensitive information, check:

How the platform handles personal and confidential data.

Whether information may be used to train AI models.

What security and access controls are available.

Whether the platform supports your organisation's privacy requirements.

Who can access stored conversations and uploaded documents.

Microsoft and Google provide published information about privacy and enterprise data protection, but users should review the terms of the specific product and subscription.

Microsoft Learn

+1

5. Test Before Making a Decision

Instead of immediately purchasing an expensive subscription, try the available tools using actual work-related tasks.

For example:

Ask different AI platforms to summarise the same document.

Compare the accuracy of their answers.

Measure how quickly they respond.

Check whether their explanations are easy to understand.

Evaluate the quality of their outputs.

Identify which platform requires less manual correction.

This simple testing process helps determine which tool provides the best value.

6. Remember That AI Still Needs Human Judgment

AI can make work faster, but it can also produce incorrect or outdated information.

Always review important outputs, especially those involving education, finance, healthcare, legal matters, or business decisions.

AI should support human decision-making, not completely replace it.

Conclusion

Choosing the right AI platform requires understanding your needs, comparing available features, reviewing costs, and considering privacy and security.

The most expensive platform does not always provide the best results. Sometimes, a simpler and more affordable tool can accomplish the same task effectively.

As AI technology continues to improve, we should remain open to learning and exploring different platforms.

The goal is not simply to use AI, but to use it responsibly, effectively, and with a clear purpose.

The right AI platform is the one that helps you work smarter, learn better, and achieve meaningful results.

References

OpenAI. Microsoft describes AI agents as intelligent software systems that can perceive information, reason about it, and take action toward a defined goal. Microsoft

Thinking of these systems as “Agent Talents” can be useful. Instead of building one AI that tries to do everything, an organization can create several specialized agents, each with its own role, skills, knowledge, and responsibilities.

Main Points

Start with a clear role.
Every AI agent should have a specific job, such as Customer Service Agent, Learning Coach, HR Assistant, Sales Support Agent, Finance Reviewer, or Research Assistant. A clear role makes the agent easier to control and evaluate.

Define its skills and responsibilities.
Decide exactly what the agent can and cannot do. For example, a Customer Service Agent may answer product questions, guide customers through procedures, and escalate difficult cases to a human.

Give the agent trusted knowledge.
An effective agent needs reliable information. This can include policies, manuals, FAQs, training materials, databases, or approved company documents. Specialized agents can connect to organizational knowledge and external systems to support specific workflows. Microsoft Learn

Connect tools and actions.
A true AI agent should be able to do more than answer questions. Depending on its permissions, it might search records, update information, send messages, create reports, or trigger workflows. Modern agents can use APIs and business systems to complete multi-step tasks. Microsoft Learn

Set clear rules and guardrails.
Organizations should define security permissions, data access, escalation rules, and situations requiring human approval. Governance and human oversight are important because agents can take actions autonomously. Microsoft Learn

Test the agent like a real employee.
Before deployment, give the agent realistic scenarios. Check its accuracy, decision-making, tone, safety, and ability to recognize when it should ask for human help.

Create an Agent Talent Team.
Organizations can eventually build teams of agents with different specialties. One agent may research information, another analyze it, and another prepare the final response. McKinsey describes the future of work as increasingly involving partnerships between people, AI agents, and other intelligent systems. McKinsey & Company

Conclusion

Creating AI Agent Talents is similar to building a digital workforce. Each agent needs a defined role, appropriate knowledge, useful tools, clear boundaries, and regular evaluation. The goal should not simply be to replace people. Instead, AI agents can handle repetitive or structured work while people focus on judgment, creativity, communication, and complex decisions.

References

Microsoft. What is an AI Agent? Microsoft
Microsoft Learn. Introduction to Agents. Microsoft Learn
Microsoft Learn. Agents for Microsoft 365 Copilot. Microsoft Learn
Microsoft Learn. AI Agent Shared Responsibility Model. Microsoft Learn
McKinsey & Company. Agents, Robots, and Us: Skill Partnerships in the Age of AI.

Technology has changed the way I do my work, especially with the help of artificial intelligence or AI. Before, some tasks took me a long time because I had to search for information, write everything from the beginning, and check my work many times. Now, AI helps me finish some of these tasks faster and makes my work easier.

One of the biggest ways AI helps me is with writing. When I need to create an email, report, article, or presentation, I can use AI to help me organize my ideas. It can suggest better words, correct grammar, and make my sentences clearer. This saves me time, especially when I already know what I want to say but have difficulty putting it into the right words.

AI also helps me when I need to learn something new. Instead of spending a long time searching through different websites, I can ask AI to explain a topic in simple language. It does not replace my own skills, but it helps me work more efficiently. When I use it correctly, I can spend less time on simple tasks and more time thinking, learning, and improving my work.

Question for readers: How has AI helped make your work or studies easier?

Artificial intelligence (AI) is becoming a useful tool for students. Apps such as AI chatbots can explain difficult topics, create practice questions, summarize information, and give feedback. However, AI should support learning, not replace a student’s own thinking. UNESCO recommends a human-centered approach to AI in education, where technology supports learners while people remain responsible for judgment, creativity, and decision-making.

Main Points

Use AI as a study assistant, not as a shortcut for homework.

Try answering questions yourself before asking AI.

Use AI to create practice quizzes and review questions.

Study regularly instead of waiting until the night before an exam.

Ask AI to explain difficult ideas in simple words.

Check important AI answers using textbooks, teachers, or reliable websites.

Rewrite explanations in your own words.

Never submit AI-generated work without understanding it.

Avoid sharing private or personal information with AI tools.

Take breaks and balance AI use with reading, writing, discussion, and independent problem-solving.

Using AI as a Learning Partner

One good study habit is to use AI as a tutor rather than an answer machine. For example, instead of saying, “Give me the answer to this math problem,” a student can ask, “Explain how to solve this problem step by step, but let me try the final answer.”

This encourages students to think and participate in the learning process. The U.S. Department of Education has emphasized that AI in education should support learning while keeping humans involved in making important decisions.

Students can also ask AI questions such as:

“Explain photosynthesis like I am 15 years old.”

“Give me five practice questions about fractions.”

“Quiz me on this chapter one question at a time.”

“Check my answer and tell me what I need to improve.”

These kinds of prompts make AI more useful for actual learning.

Practice Instead of Just Reading

Simply reading notes many times may feel like studying, but students also need to practice remembering information. Research on learning techniques found that practice testing is one of the most effective ways to improve learning and memory.

AI can make this easier. After studying a topic, students can ask AI to create a short quiz. They should answer the questions without looking at their notes first. Afterward, AI can explain the mistakes.

For example, a student studying biology could ask:

“Create 10 Grade 10 questions about the digestive system. Do not give me the answers until I finish.”

This turns AI into a practice partner rather than something that simply gives answers.

Study a Little at a Time

Another important habit is distributed practice, which means spreading study sessions over several days instead of studying everything at once. Research reviewed by Dunlosky and colleagues found strong evidence that distributed practice can improve learning.

Students might study for 30–45 minutes each day and use AI to review different topics. For example:

Monday: Learn the topic.
Tuesday: Ask AI for practice questions.
Wednesday: Review mistakes.
Thursday: Explain the lesson in your own words.
Friday: Take a short practice test.

This is usually more useful than trying to study an entire subject the night before an exam.

Always Check AI Answers

AI can sometimes produce information that sounds correct but is inaccurate. Because of this, students should develop the habit of checking important information. UNESCO's guidance on generative AI highlights the importance of responsible, safe, and meaningful use of AI in education.

Students should compare AI answers with their textbook, class notes, trusted websites, or their teacher. If two sources give different answers, that is a good opportunity to investigate further.

Conclusion

AI can make studying easier, more interactive, and more personalized, but good study habits still matter. Students should think first, practice regularly, check information, and explain ideas in their own words.

The best way to use AI is not to ask, “Can AI do my work for me?” Instead, ask, “How can AI help me understand this better?”

When students combine AI with regular study, practice questions, independent thinking, and responsible use, technology can become a powerful learning partner rather than a shortcut.

References

Dunlosky, J., Rawson, K. I can use it to create articles, social media content, presentations, training materials, technical documents, and even ideas for AI agents. When I have rough notes or an idea in mind, AI helps me develop it into something clearer and more useful.

AI also helps me save time. Today, developers can use AI tools to generate code, explain errors, suggest improvements, write tests, and even help with documentation. Because of this, many people are asking the same question:

Do we still need strong programming skills when AI can already write code?

The answer is yes. But the kind of programming skills that matter most are changing.

AI can help developers work faster, but it still cannot replace the need to understand problems, make good decisions, check whether code is correct, and make sure software is secure and reliable.

Main Points

Programming is still important, but developers are now working more closely with AI tools.

Understanding code is becoming more important than simply typing it.

Problem-solving, debugging, and system design are becoming even more valuable.

Developers need both programming knowledge and AI literacy.

Security, testing, and human judgment are still essential.

Continuous learning will be one of the most important skills for future programmers.

AI Is Becoming a Programming Partner

AI coding tools can already do many things that used to take developers a lot of time. They can suggest code, fix simple errors, create sample functions, and help programmers understand unfamiliar code.

This can make software development faster.

Research cited by the OECD found that developers using GitHub Copilot completed a programming task faster than those who did not use the tool. This shows how useful AI can be for repetitive or time-consuming work.

But AI does not always understand the full situation.

It may generate code that looks correct but contains mistakes, security issues, or poor design choices. That is why programmers still need to review what AI produces.

Understanding Code Matters More Than Ever

Before AI tools became common, many programmers spent a lot of time remembering syntax and writing every line of code themselves.

Now, AI can generate much of that code.

This means the value of a programmer is slowly shifting. Instead of simply knowing how to type code, developers need to understand how the code works and why it was written that way.

Important programming knowledge still includes:

Variables and data types

Loops and conditions

Algorithms and data structures

Databases and APIs

Testing and debugging

Software architecture

Version control

Cybersecurity basics

These fundamentals help developers recognize when AI-generated code is wrong.

A good programmer should always be able to ask:

“Does this solution actually solve the problem?”

Problem-Solving Is Becoming More Important

AI can generate code quickly, but it still needs clear instructions.

That means developers must be able to break a problem into smaller parts, define requirements, choose the right tools, and decide whether the solution makes sense.

The World Economic Forum’s Future of Jobs Report 2025 highlights skills such as analytical thinking, creativity, technological literacy, and lifelong learning as increasingly important.

For programmers, this means success will depend less on typing speed and more on thinking clearly.

Strong developers will need to:

Understand the real problem

Ask the right questions

Design a good solution

Check AI-generated code

Debug unexpected problems

Explain technical ideas clearly

Understand what users actually need

Programmers Also Need AI Skills

Modern developers should also learn how to work effectively with AI.

This does not mean they need to become AI researchers.

But they should understand how to give clear instructions, provide useful context, check AI-generated output, and recognize when AI should not be trusted.

Useful AI-related skills may include:

Prompting

Working with AI APIs

Understanding basic machine learning concepts

Data handling

Retrieval systems

Privacy and AI safety

Evaluating AI-generated answers

The OECD also points out that digital skills, critical thinking, creativity, and the ability to keep learning are important as AI changes the workplace.

Security and Testing Still Need Humans

One of the biggest risks of AI-generated code is that it can look correct even when it is not.

A program may run successfully but still have security problems, weak error handling, or privacy risks.

This is why developers still need to understand testing, cybersecurity, authentication, data protection, and safe software design.

AI can help produce code, but humans are still responsible for deciding whether that code should be trusted.

The Future of Programming

Programming is not disappearing.

It is changing.

In the future, programmers may spend less time writing every line of code manually and more time planning, reviewing, testing, integrating, and improving AI-generated solutions.

For students and new developers, the best approach is not to choose between programming and AI.

It is better to learn both.

AI can be a powerful assistant, but it becomes much more useful when the person using it already understands programming.

The most important question may no longer be:

“Can you write code?”

Instead, it may become:

“Can you understand the problem, use AI to help build a solution, and judge whether that solution is actually correct?”

That is likely to be one of the most important programming skills in the age of AI.

References

World Economic Forum. The Future of Jobs Report 2025.

OECD. Skills in the AI Age, AI Is Changing Education in the Philippines

Artificial intelligence is beginning to reshape education in the Philippines. From helping teachers prepare lessons to supporting students with reading, research, and personalized learning, AI is becoming part of the country’s broader effort to modernize its education system.

The shift is not only about introducing new technology. It is also about helping teachers and learners use AI responsibly, critically, and safely.

Main Points

AI is helping teachers reduce administrative work and prepare learning materials more efficiently.

Students are gaining access to more personalized and interactive learning support.

AI literacy is becoming part of the Philippine basic education agenda.

DepEd is introducing national guidelines to make AI use safer and more responsible.

AI can support teachers, but it is not intended to replace human judgment or instruction.

Privacy, misinformation, academic integrity, and unequal access remain important concerns.

AI Is Supporting Teachers

One of the most immediate uses of AI in Philippine education is helping teachers manage their workload.

In 2026, the Department of Education and Microsoft expanded their partnership to provide Microsoft Copilot access to up to one million public school teachers. The program is designed to help educators create lesson plans, prepare assessments, draft communications, summarize information, and provide more personalized support to learners.

Earlier teacher training programs also showed how AI could reduce administrative burden. Microsoft reported that participants in a Copilot classroom initiative across several DepEd regions saved an average of about nine hours per week on ancillary tasks, although these figures came from program reports rather than an independent national study.

By reducing time spent on repetitive work, AI may allow teachers to focus more attention on instruction, mentoring, and direct interaction with students.

More Personalized Learning for Students

AI is also being used to identify learning gaps and provide more targeted support.

Microsoft’s Reading Progress and related learning tools have been introduced in Philippine schools to help assess reading fluency and provide teachers with information about student performance. In Bais and Dumaguete, more than 14,000 learners across 61 schools were assessed using the technology, while similar programs were implemented in Cabanatuan City.

Tools like these can help teachers identify which students require additional assistance and adjust lessons accordingly.

AI can also serve as a study assistant by explaining difficult concepts, generating practice questions, providing examples, and helping learners review lessons at their own pace. However, students still need to verify AI-generated answers because generative AI can produce inaccurate or unsupported information.

AI Literacy Is Becoming Part of Education

The Philippines is also moving toward formally teaching students and educators how to understand and use AI.

In February 2026, DepEd issued its Foundational Guidelines on Artificial Intelligence in Basic Education. The framework covers AI in teaching and learning, AI literacy, assessment, teacher development, and education administration. It emphasizes that AI should remain a complementary tool and that education should continue to be human-centered, inclusive, and guided by professional judgment.

DepEd has also introduced AGAP.AI, a nationwide initiative intended to strengthen responsible AI literacy among students, teachers, and parents. The initiative aims to reach approximately 1.5 million participants and covers areas such as ethical AI use, digital literacy, and responsible technology practices.

Responsible AI Use Is Becoming More Important

As AI enters classrooms, schools must address new risks.

DepEd’s current AI framework emphasizes safeguards involving privacy, child protection, transparency, inclusion, and human oversight. It also identifies certain high-risk uses that should not be allowed, including manipulative AI systems involving minors and biometric emotion recognition.

Students also need to understand academic integrity. It can help teachers manage workloads, help students understand difficult topics, and support education administrators with better information.

However, successful AI adoption will depend on more than technology.

Schools will need reliable infrastructure, teacher training, strong privacy protections, clear academic-integrity rules, and equal opportunities for learners to access digital tools.

The most effective future is therefore not one where AI replaces teachers. Filipino adoption of AI is already relatively strong in some sectors, but widespread use does not necessarily mean that everyone has a deep understanding of how AI works, its limitations, or how to use it responsibly.

The Philippines has therefore begun moving from simply using AI tools toward building broader AI literacy, skills, governance, and research capacity.

Main Points

AI adoption among Filipino knowledge workers is high.

AI skills are becoming increasingly important for employment.

The Philippine government is investing in AI education, research, and workforce development.

Schools are beginning to formally introduce responsible AI literacy.

AI knowledge must include ethics, privacy, misinformation awareness, and critical thinking—not only prompting skills.

Skills gaps, infrastructure, training, and responsible governance remain important challenges.

Filipinos Are Rapidly Adopting AI

A 2024 Work Trend Index released by Microsoft and LinkedIn reported that 86% of Filipino knowledge workers surveyed were using AI at work, compared with a global average of 75% and a regional average of 83%. The same study found that 89% of Filipino business leaders believed their companies needed to adopt AI to remain competitive.

These findings suggest that AI awareness and practical usage are already significant among digitally connected Filipino professionals. However, the study represents knowledge workers rather than the entire Philippine population, so it should not be interpreted as saying that 86% of all Filipinos understand or use AI.

AI capability is also becoming an employment skill. According to the same Philippine Work Trend Index, 70% of Filipino leaders surveyed said they would only hire someone with AI skills. This demonstrates why AI literacy is increasingly relevant to students, employees, job seekers, and professionals.

Government Strategy for an AI-Ready Philippines

The Department of Trade and Industry launched the National AI Strategy Roadmap 2.0 in July 2024 together with the Center for AI Research. The roadmap recognizes generative AI and emphasizes workforce development, education, research, data access, innovation, ethics, and responsible governance.

An important part of the strategy is upskilling and reskilling Filipino workers so that they can respond to increasing demand for AI and data-science skills. The roadmap also acknowledges challenges such as limited human resources, insufficient AI use cases, difficulties in developing effective data strategies, and uncertainty around regulation.

This means that improving AI knowledge in the Philippines requires more than introducing people to applications such as ChatGPT. Filipinos also need to understand how to evaluate AI-generated information, protect confidential data, detect hallucinations or misinformation, and know when human judgment is necessary.

AI Knowledge in Philippine Education

AI literacy is also becoming part of the national education agenda. In February 2026, the Department of Education issued its Foundational Guidelines on Artificial Intelligence in Basic Education. The guidelines promote AI as a tool for improving learning and education services while emphasizing academic integrity, safety, inclusion, responsible governance, and continued human agency.

DepEd also launched Project AGAP.AI, which includes a nationwide AI training initiative for learners, teachers, and parents. The program aims to teach basic AI concepts, classroom applications, ethics, data privacy, and ways to address misinformation. DepEd said the initiative targets as many as 1.5 million participants, including learners, teachers, and parents.

These developments are important because students should learn not only how to use AI, but also how to question it.

Moving From AI Users to AI-Literate Citizens

The Philippines shows promising AI adoption, particularly among professionals and digitally connected communities. The next challenge is developing deeper AI knowledge across education, business, government, and society.

AI literacy should therefore include:

Understanding what generative AI can and cannot do

Writing clear and effective prompts

Checking AI-generated information against reliable sources

Recognizing hallucinations, bias, and misinformation

Protecting personal, organizational, and confidential information

Understanding copyright and academic integrity

Applying human judgment before making important decisions

Learning how AI affects jobs, businesses, and society

With continued investment in education, workforce training, research, infrastructure, and responsible AI governance, the Philippines has an opportunity to build a population that is not simply familiar with AI tools but is capable of using them critically, safely, ethically, and productively.

References

Department of Trade and Industry Philippines. “DTI Drives AI Innovation with National Roadmap 2.0 and CAIR Launch,” July 5, 2024. DTI National AI Strategy Roadmap 2.0

Microsoft Philippines and LinkedIn. “2024 Work Trend Index on AI Use at Work in the Philippines,” May 23, 2024. Microsoft Philippines Work Trend Index

Department of Education. “Foundational Guidelines on Artificial Intelligence in Basic Education,” DepEd Order No. 003, s. 2026.

Department of Education. “Future-Ready EducAItion: Project AGAP.AI,” January 9, 2026. DepEd Project AGAP.AI

With ReallyLesson, learning becomes easier, practical, and more empowering. 💡

Build new skills, grow your knowledge, and take the next step toward your goals—with confidence.

✨ Learn. Artificial intelligence (AI), automation, data analytics, robotics, cloud computing, and other digital technologies are becoming increasingly common in schools and workplaces. Because of these rapid developments, preparing students for the future requires more than simply teaching them how to use computers. Students need a combination of technological knowledge, critical thinking, creativity, communication, adaptability, and responsible decision-making.

The World Economic Forum’s Future of Jobs Report 2025 estimates that nearly 39% of the key skills required in the workplace are expected to change by 2030. Skills related to AI, big data, cybersecurity, and technological literacy are among those increasing most rapidly in importance. At the same time, employers continue to value human abilities such as creative thinking, analytical thinking, resilience, flexibility, leadership, and collaboration.

This means schools should help students understand technology while also strengthening the uniquely human skills needed to work alongside it.

Important Skills Students Need

Students should be given opportunities to develop the following areas:

Digital and AI literacy – Students should understand how digital systems and AI tools work, what they can do, and where their limitations lie.

Critical thinking – Students need to evaluate online information, question AI-generated answers, identify misinformation, and verify information using reliable sources.

Creativity and problem-solving – Technology can generate ideas and automate tasks, but students still need to identify problems, develop solutions, and make thoughtful decisions.

Communication and collaboration – Future workplaces will continue to require people to communicate effectively, work in teams, explain ideas, and collaborate with both people and technology.

Adaptability and lifelong learning – Because technologies will continue to change, students must become comfortable learning new tools and updating their skills throughout their lives.

Digital responsibility and ethics – Students should understand privacy, cybersecurity, copyright, bias, responsible AI use, and the possible social consequences of technology.

Digital literacy should also go beyond simply knowing how to operate devices. UNICEF explains that digital literacy includes the knowledge, skills, and attitudes that help children participate safely and effectively in an increasingly digital world.

Learning to Use AI Responsibly

Artificial intelligence is already influencing education. Students can use AI to generate ideas, explain difficult topics, practise languages, organise information, and receive learning support. However, AI-generated information can sometimes be inaccurate, incomplete, biased, or unsupported.

UNESCO recommends a human-centred approach to generative AI in education, where technology supports learning without replacing human judgement, teachers, or students' own intellectual development.

Students therefore need to learn an important principle:

Use AI to support thinking—not to replace thinking.

For example, when students receive information from an AI tool, they should:

Check important facts using trustworthy sources.

Compare information from several references.

Identify assumptions or unsupported statements.

Consider possible bias.

Protect personal and confidential information.

Clearly acknowledge AI assistance when required by their school.

UNICEF similarly emphasizes the importance of preparing children for present and future developments in AI while protecting their safety, privacy, rights, and well-being.

The Role of Schools and Teachers

Schools have an important responsibility to create learning experiences that reflect the realities of a technology-driven world. Technology should not simply be added to traditional lessons. Instead, students should practise using digital tools to investigate real problems, collaborate with classmates, analyse information, create projects, and communicate solutions.

The OECD notes that effective digital education requires more than technology infrastructure. Education systems also need appropriate governance, digitally capable teachers, trustworthy platforms, and thoughtful approaches to using AI and digital resources.

Ultimately, preparing students for future technology is not about predicting every tool they will use. Many technologies they encounter in their careers may not even exist today. The goal is to develop students who are curious, adaptable, digitally capable, ethical, and confident learners.

By combining technological skills with creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, and responsible decision-making, education can prepare students not simply to use future technology, but to understand it, question it, improve it, and use it responsibly to solve real-world problems.

References

World Economic Forum. Entrepreneurs, managers, and professionals may feel pressure to remain available, respond quickly, pursue every opportunity, and continuously push for growth. Yet sustainable success requires something that business culture sometimes undervalues: rest.

Rest does not mean abandoning ambition. It means creating enough distance from work to recover energy, regain perspective, and return with greater clarity. Research on workplace recovery shows that psychological detachment from work is an important part of maintaining well-being and performance.

For business owners in particular, learning when to step away can become a competitive advantage.

1. Rest Protects You From Chronic Exhaustion

Business can create continuous demands: customers need answers, employees need direction, competitors keep moving, and opportunities never seem to stop.

Without recovery, this pressure can accumulate.

The World Health Organization describes burnout as an occupational phenomenon associated with chronic workplace stress that has not been successfully managed. Its characteristics include exhaustion, increased mental distance or cynicism toward work, and reduced professional effectiveness.

Regular rest can help interrupt that cycle.

Schedule periods when you are genuinely unavailable.

Protect sleep and personal recovery time.

Avoid treating every message as an emergency.

Create boundaries between business hours and personal hours.

Delegate responsibilities instead of carrying everything yourself.

Rest is not a reward you receive after finishing everything. In business, there will always be something else to do. Recovery needs to be deliberately scheduled.

2. Distance From Work Can Improve Perspective

Sometimes the solution to a business problem does not appear while staring at it for another three hours.

Psychological detachment means temporarily disengaging from work-related activities and thoughts during non-work time. Research has associated greater detachment with better recovery and well-being, while heavy workloads can make detachment more difficult.

Stepping away allows you to return to a problem from a different perspective.

This may look like:

Taking a walk without checking your phone.

Spending an evening without opening business email.

Taking a weekend away from operational decisions.

Exercising, reading, or enjoying a hobby.

Spending uninterrupted time with family or friends.

The purpose is not necessarily to generate business ideas during your break. The purpose is to give your mind space away from constant decision-making.

3. Entrepreneurs Need Recovery Too

Entrepreneurs are especially vulnerable to blurred boundaries between work and personal life. Their business can become deeply connected to their identity, finances, relationships, and future.

A diary study of entrepreneurs found that daily work stressors could interfere with their ability to mentally detach from work, which was associated with lower well-being the following morning.

More recent research involving small-business owners also suggests that recovery experiences—including relaxation, control over leisure time, mastery experiences, and detachment—are associated with better well-being and lower burnout.

This means rest should be considered part of entrepreneurship, not something separate from it.

4. Rest Can Make Leadership More Sustainable

When leaders are exhausted, they may become more reactive.

Small problems feel larger. Patience decreases. Decisions may become rushed, and communication can become less thoughtful.

A rested leader is more likely to approach challenges with patience and perspective.

Business leaders can encourage healthier recovery by:

Setting realistic expectations around availability.

Avoiding unnecessary after-hours communication.

Encouraging employees to use their leave.

Reducing excessive workloads.

Building systems that do not depend on one person being constantly available.

Creating a workplace where recovery is viewed as responsible rather than lazy.

WHO guidance on occupational stress also emphasizes organizational measures such as workload reduction, schedule adjustments, communication, and teamwork.

5. Learn the Difference Between Rest and Stopping

Rest does not mean losing momentum.

Think of it as part of the business cycle:

Work → Recover → Reflect → Adjust → Work Again

Without recovery, the cycle eventually becomes:

Work → Work More → Exhaustion → Poor Decisions → Reduced Performance

The first cycle is sustainable. The second is not.

Rest can therefore support productivity rather than compete with it.

Rest Is Part of the Strategy

The marketplace often celebrates speed, hustle, and constant growth. But not every opportunity needs an immediate response, and not every hour needs to be productive.

Sometimes the smartest business decision is to stop for a while.

Rest gives entrepreneurs and professionals space to recover physically, disconnect mentally, reconsider priorities, and return with renewed attention.

Successful business is not only about knowing when to push forward. It is also about knowing when to step away so that you can return stronger.

In a marketplace that rarely stops moving, the ability to rest intentionally may be one of the most valuable disciplines a business leader can develop.

References

World Health Organization. Burn-out an occupational phenomenon.

Agolli, A., & Holtz, B. They shape whose ideas receive attention, who gains support for projects, how decisions are made, and how teams respond to change. However, workplace power is not simply about having a senior title. The most effective professionals learn how to influence others through credibility, relationships, expertise, communication, and trust.

Classic research by social psychologists John French and Bertram Raven identified several important sources of social power, including legitimate power, reward power, coercive power, expert power, and referent power. Their framework remains influential because it shows that authority is only one source of power. Expertise and the respect of others can be equally important.

1. Build Credibility Before Seeking Influence

People are more likely to listen when they believe you are competent and trustworthy. Influence therefore begins long before an important presentation or difficult conversation.

Deliver work consistently and on time.

Develop expertise in an area that matters to your team.

Admit when you do not know something.

Follow through on promises.

Base recommendations on evidence rather than opinion alone.

Expert power becomes stronger when colleagues know they can depend on your knowledge. At the same time, credibility requires trust. Expertise without integrity may create authority, but it rarely creates lasting influence.

2. Understand What Matters to Other People

Influence is not about forcing someone to accept your idea. It is about understanding their interests and showing how your proposal connects with them.

Before asking for support, consider:

What problem is this person trying to solve?

What pressures or targets are they facing?

What would success look like from their perspective?

What concerns might make them resist your proposal?

This is especially important when influencing people outside your reporting line. Harvard Business Review notes that modern professionals often need cooperation from people over whom they have no formal authority. Effective influence therefore depends on understanding relationships, incentives, and the people who shape decisions.

3. Use Relationships as a Source of Influence

Strong professional relationships create what might be called relational capital. People are generally more willing to support colleagues who have treated them fairly, helped them previously, and demonstrated genuine interest in their success.

Offer assistance before you need a favour.

Share useful information and opportunities.

Recognize other people's contributions.

Build relationships across departments, not only within your immediate team.

Avoid contacting people only when you need something.

Robert Cialdini's research on persuasion identifies reciprocity as an important influence principle: people are often more willing to respond positively when someone has provided value first.

4. Communicate With Persuasion, Not Pressure

The way an idea is presented can strongly affect how others receive it. Effective influencers make their message easy to understand and relevant to their audience.

Several principles from Cialdini's work are especially useful at work:

Reciprocity: Create value for others before asking for support.

Social proof: Show how similar teams or respected colleagues have successfully used an approach.

Authority: Support your recommendation with expertise, evidence, or credible sources.

Consistency: Connect a request with commitments or goals people have already accepted.

Liking: Build genuine rapport and common ground.

Unity: Emphasize shared goals and a sense of “we.”

These principles should be used ethically. Persuasion becomes manipulation when information is intentionally hidden, distorted, or used to pressure people unfairly.

5. Learn to Read the Room

Influence also requires social awareness. A strong idea presented at the wrong moment may fail.

Pay attention to:

Who actually influences the decision.

Who supports or opposes the proposal.

Whether people need more information before deciding.

The emotional atmosphere of the meeting.

Whether private conversations should happen before a formal discussion.

Sometimes the person with the most impressive title is not the person with the greatest practical influence. Experienced professionals learn to understand both the formal organizational chart and the informal network behind it.

6. Use Power Responsibly

The strongest form of workplace power is not control—it is trust.

Leaders and employees who use intimidation may gain short-term compliance, but they can damage psychological safety and relationships. Sustainable influence is more likely when people feel respected and understand why a decision matters.

Use influence to:

Create alignment rather than fear.

Give others credit.

Protect people who have less organizational power.

Encourage constructive disagreement.

Build solutions that benefit the broader team.

The Real Art of Influence

Power at work is not only something granted through promotion. It can be built through expertise, reliability, relationships, communication, and character.

The most influential professionals do not simply ask, “How can I get people to do what I want?” They ask, “How can I create enough trust, clarity, and shared purpose that people want to move forward together?”

That is the real art of power and influence at work.

References

French, J. Employees are encouraged to “stay motivated,” set ambitious goals, and maintain a positive attitude. Motivation is certainly important, but it can fluctuate from day to day. Momentum, on the other hand, develops when consistent action creates visible progress. Understanding the difference between the two can help employees and managers build more sustainable performance.

What Is Motivation?

Motivation is the psychological force that encourages someone to begin or continue an activity. It can come from internal sources, such as enjoyment, curiosity, purpose, or personal growth, or from external sources, such as salary, recognition, promotion, or rewards.

Self-determination theory suggests that motivation is stronger and more sustainable when people experience autonomy, competence, and connection with others. Research applying this theory to workplaces has linked supportive environments and autonomous motivation with positive outcomes such as engagement, job satisfaction, productivity, and well-being.

However, motivation is not constant. An employee may feel highly motivated at the beginning of a new project but lose enthusiasm when deadlines become difficult, repetitive tasks appear, or results take longer than expected. Waiting until you “feel motivated” can therefore make productivity inconsistent.

What Is Momentum?

Workplace momentum develops when one completed action makes the next action easier. Instead of depending entirely on enthusiasm, momentum is created through routines, achievable goals, repeated effort, and visible progress.

Research by Teresa Amabile and Steven Kramer highlights the importance of what they call the progress principle. Their work found that making progress in meaningful work can significantly improve employees' emotions, perceptions, and motivation. Even relatively small achievements can create a sense that work is moving forward.

This creates an important cycle:

Action → Progress → Confidence → Motivation → More Action

In this sense, momentum can actually generate motivation rather than simply depend on it.

Small Wins Build Momentum

Imagine an employee who needs to complete a major report. Looking at the entire project may feel overwhelming. Instead of waiting for inspiration, the employee could divide the assignment into smaller steps: gather the data, create the outline, write the introduction, complete one section, and review the final document.

Each completed task creates evidence of progress.

Research summarized by the American Psychological Association also suggests that regularly monitoring progress toward goals increases the likelihood of achieving them. Making progress visible—through checklists, dashboards, milestones, or regular reviews—can therefore help employees maintain forward movement.

Clear goals matter as well. Goal-setting research has long connected specific goals with stronger performance, and experimental research has found that goal setting can improve worker performance even without additional financial incentives.

How Managers Can Create Momentum

Managers should not focus exclusively on inspiring employees. They can also design working conditions that make progress easier.

This can include breaking large projects into milestones, establishing clear priorities, removing unnecessary obstacles, providing timely feedback, recognizing progress, and giving employees sufficient resources to complete their work.

Instead of only saying, “We need everyone to be more motivated,” managers can ask, “What is preventing the team from moving forward?”

Removing one obstacle may be more effective than delivering another motivational speech.

Employees can use the same approach personally. Starting with a manageable task, tracking completed work, reducing distractions, and maintaining consistent routines can create momentum even on days when enthusiasm is low.

Momentum and Motivation Work Together

Momentum should not completely replace motivation. Motivation provides meaning and direction, while momentum helps transform intention into repeated action.

The strongest workplace performance often comes from combining both. Employees need meaningful reasons to care about their work, but they also need systems that help them keep progressing when motivation temporarily falls.

The lesson is simple: you do not always need to feel motivated before taking action. Sometimes action comes first. Progress creates momentum, momentum strengthens confidence, and confidence can restore motivation.

In the workplace, sustainable success is therefore less about staying inspired every minute and more about creating an environment where people can continue moving forward.

References

Amabile, T. However, you do not need to know everything before you begin. A successful technology career usually starts with choosing a direction, building practical skills, gaining experience, and continuing to learn as the field evolves.

Technology remains a strong area for career development. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics projects employment in computer and information technology occupations to grow much faster than the average for all occupations between 2024 and 2034. Opportunities can be found in software development, cybersecurity, data analytics, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, IT support, user experience design, technical project management, and many other areas.

1. Choose a Career Path

The first step is identifying which area of technology interests you most. If you enjoy solving technical problems, you might explore software development or IT support. If you enjoy analysing information, data analytics or data science may suit you. Those interested in protecting systems can consider cybersecurity, while creative learners may prefer UX/UI design.

You do not necessarily need a traditional computer science degree to enter every technology role. Current entry-level opportunities include IT support specialist, technical writer, technical project manager, and data analyst, and candidates can often strengthen their chances through practical projects, certificates, and transferable skills.

2. Develop the Right Skills

Once you have chosen a direction, focus on the core skills required for that role rather than trying to learn every technology at once.

For example, someone interested in software development might begin with Python or JavaScript. An aspiring data analyst could learn spreadsheets, SQL, data visualization, and Python. Someone interested in cloud computing might explore platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud. Programming, data analysis, DevOps, and cloud computing remain useful skills across many technology careers.

AI literacy is also becoming increasingly valuable. LinkedIn reports that many of the skills used in jobs are expected to change significantly by 2030, with artificial intelligence acting as an important driver of that transformation.

3. Build Practical Projects

Learning becomes more valuable when you apply it. Instead of completing courses without producing anything, create small projects that demonstrate what you can do.

A beginner developer could build a simple website or application. A data analyst could create a dashboard using a public dataset. A cybersecurity learner could document a security lab or risk assessment.

These projects can become part of your portfolio. A portfolio gives potential employers evidence of your abilities, especially when you do not yet have professional technology experience. Coursera similarly recommends building a portfolio as one way to demonstrate skills when pursuing entry-level technology positions.

4. Gain Experience Wherever You Can

Your first experience does not have to come from a full-time technology job. Consider internships, volunteer projects, freelance work, hackathons, student projects, or helping a small organization solve a technology problem.

You can also look for opportunities within your current job. For example, you might automate a repetitive process, help create reports, manage digital systems, or participate in a technology-related project.

5. Build Your Professional Network

Connect with people already working in the roles you are considering. Attend technology events, join professional communities, participate in online discussions, and connect with professionals on LinkedIn.

Networking is not simply about asking people for jobs. It is an opportunity to understand how the industry works, learn from other people's experiences, discover opportunities, and receive feedback on your development.

6. Keep Learning

A technology career does not end once you get your first job. Tools, programming languages, AI systems, security threats, and industry practices continue to change.

Develop the habit of continuous learning. Take short courses, read technical documentation, experiment with new tools, earn relevant certifications, and continue building projects. Your ability to learn and adapt can become one of your most valuable professional skills.

Starting a career in technology is less about becoming an expert immediately and more about making consistent progress. Choose one direction, learn the fundamentals, build something useful, share your work, gain experience, and keep improving. Every project and new skill moves you closer to your first opportunity.

References

U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Computer and Information Technology Occupations: Occupational Outlook Handbook.

Coursera. 5 Tech Entry-Level Jobs in 2026: No Experience Required.

Coursera. 8 In-Demand IT Skills to Boost Your Resume in 2026.

LinkedIn Economic Graph. Work Change Report.

LinkedIn. Skills on the Rise in 2025.

A resume in 2026 is more than a list of jobs and educational qualifications. It is a personal marketing document designed to quickly show employers what you can do, what results you have achieved, and why you are a good match for the position. Many employers also use Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) to scan resumes before a recruiter reviews them, so your resume should be both easy for software to read and easy for humans to understand.

1. Keep the Resume Simple and Professional

A modern resume does not need excessive graphics, colors, icons, or complicated designs. A clean, single-column format is generally safer for ATS systems. CareerOneStop recommends keeping resumes to one or two pages, using standard headings, readable fonts, consistent spacing, and clear bullet points.

Important points:

Use a clean, professional layout.

Use standard fonts such as Arial, Calibri, Georgia, Garamond, or Times New Roman.

Use approximately 10–12 point font for body text.

Keep margins and spacing consistent.

Avoid tables, text boxes, graphics, logos, and excessive design elements.

Use standard headings such as Professional Summary, Work Experience, Education, and Skills.

Save your resume as PDF unless the employer requests another format.

2. Start With a Strong Professional Summary

Your professional summary should immediately explain who you are, what you specialize in, and what value you can bring. CareerOneStop recommends a concise summary that highlights relevant skills and accomplishments and uses keywords related to the position.

Instead of writing:

"Hardworking person looking for a challenging job."

Write something more specific:

"IT Specialist with 4+ years of experience in web development, system administration, and technical support, with a proven record of improving internal systems and resolving technical issues."

3. Focus on Achievements, Not Just Responsibilities

One of the biggest improvements you can make to a 2026 resume is changing "what I was assigned to do" into "what I accomplished."

For example:

Weak: Responsible for managing company websites.

Better: Managed and maintained company websites, improving system reliability and reducing recurring technical issues.

Strong: Managed five company websites and implemented maintenance improvements that reduced recurring technical issues by 30%.

CareerOneStop recommends using numbers, percentages, dollar amounts, and other measurable results whenever possible. Indeed also recommends quantifying achievements so employers can better understand your potential impact.

4. Optimize Your Resume for ATS

In 2026, you should assume that your resume may be processed by an ATS. Use keywords that genuinely match the job description.

Important points:

Read the job advertisement carefully.

Identify required technical skills and qualifications.

Use relevant keywords naturally.

Use standard section headings.

Avoid hiding keywords in white text.

Check spelling carefully.

Don't add skills you don't actually possess.

5. Make Your Skills Relevant

Do not create a huge list of every skill you have ever learned. Instead, prioritize skills that are relevant to the specific position.

For an AI Specialist, for example:

Artificial Intelligence

Generative AI

Prompt Engineering

Python

Machine Learning

API Integration

Data Analysis

Automation

OpenAI API

AI Tools and Platforms

CareerOneStop recommends focusing the Skills section on technical and job-specific skills that match the position.

6. Include Education and Certifications

Education remains an important section, particularly for students, recent graduates, and professionals applying for positions where specific qualifications are required. List your most recent education first and include relevant certifications or professional training.

Final Resume Checklist

Before submitting your resume, make sure:

✅ Your resume is 1–2 pages when appropriate.

✅ Your contact information is current.

✅ Your target job is clear.

✅ Your professional summary is specific.

✅ Your experience focuses on achievements.

✅ Your achievements include numbers whenever possible.

✅ Your skills match the job description.

✅ Your resume is ATS-friendly.

✅ Your formatting is consistent.

✅ Your grammar and spelling are correct.

✅ You have removed unnecessary information.

✅ You have reviewed the resume before submitting it.

References

CareerOneStop – Resume Guide — U.S. Department of Labor-sponsored career resource covering resume structure and preparation.

CareerOneStop – Resume Formatting — Guidance on ATS-friendly formatting, fonts, length, headings, and file preparation.

CareerOneStop – Work Experience — Guidance on writing achievement-focused work experience.

Indeed – How to Make Your Resume Comprehensive — Updated April 2026 guidance on quantifying accomplishments.

Indeed – How to Write an ATS Resume — Guidance on keywords and ATS optimization.

Agentic AI is changing the game. 😎
Here's a highlight from another engaging session filled with learning, meaningful discussions, and fresh insights.
Missed the session? Organizations across various industries are integrating AI into their daily operations to improve productivity, enhance decision-making, automate repetitive tasks, and provide better customer experiences. Rather than replacing employees entirely, AI is increasingly being used as a tool that supports human workers by making their jobs more efficient and allowing them to focus on higher-value tasks. Recent workplace studies show that AI is most commonly used as a collaborative assistant for researching, writing, coding, data analysis, and problem-solving rather than fully automating entire jobs.

How AI is Used in the Workplace

AI is now embedded in many workplace functions, including:

Customer Service: AI-powered chatbots provide instant responses to customer inquiries and are available 24/7.

Human Resources: AI assists in screening resumes, scheduling interviews, and identifying qualified candidates.

Healthcare: AI helps doctors analyze medical images, predict diseases, and recommend treatment options.

Education: AI personalizes learning experiences, creates quizzes, and assists teachers in preparing lessons.

Finance: Banks use AI to detect fraudulent transactions, assess credit risks, and automate financial reporting.

Software Development: Developers use AI to generate code, detect bugs, and improve software quality.

Marketing: AI analyzes customer behavior, creates personalized advertisements, and predicts market trends.

Benefits of AI in the Workplace

The adoption of AI offers numerous advantages:

1. Increased Productivity

AI automates repetitive and time-consuming tasks such as data entry, scheduling, and document processing. This allows employees to focus on strategic and creative work.

2. Improved Decision-Making

AI can analyze massive amounts of data within seconds, providing insights that help managers make informed business decisions.

3. Higher Accuracy

Unlike humans, AI systems can perform repetitive calculations with fewer errors, improving the quality of work.

4. Cost Savings

Businesses reduce operational costs by automating routine processes and improving efficiency.

5. Better Customer Experience

AI-powered virtual assistants and recommendation systems provide faster responses and personalized services to customers.

Challenges of AI in the Workplace

Despite its benefits, AI also presents several challenges.

Job Displacement

Automation may reduce the need for some routine and repetitive jobs, especially administrative and entry-level positions. However, AI is also creating new roles that require digital and analytical skills.

Privacy and Security

AI systems often process large amounts of personal and business data. Organizations must ensure proper cybersecurity measures and comply with data privacy regulations.

Bias and Ethical Issues

AI systems can produce biased decisions if they are trained using biased data. Companies need to monitor AI systems to ensure fairness and transparency.

Skills Gap

Employees need continuous learning and training to effectively use AI tools. Organizations are investing in AI education and upskilling programs to prepare workers for an AI-enabled workplace.

The Future of AI at Work

The future workplace is expected to involve close collaboration between humans and AI rather than complete automation. AI will continue handling repetitive, data-intensive tasks, while humans will contribute creativity, emotional intelligence, ethical judgment, leadership, and complex problem-solving.

Research also indicates that organizations achieve better outcomes when they introduce AI with clear guidance, proper employee training, and manager support. Employees are more likely to adopt AI successfully when they understand how it fits into their daily work and how it enhances—not replaces—their roles.

Conclusion

Artificial Intelligence is reshaping the modern workplace by improving efficiency, supporting decision-making, and enabling innovation across industries. While AI introduces challenges such as job displacement, privacy concerns, and the need for new skills, it also creates opportunities for businesses and employees to become more productive and competitive. The most successful organizations will be those that combine the strengths of AI with human creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration. As AI technology continues to evolve, employees who embrace lifelong learning and develop AI-related skills will be better prepared for the future of work.

References (APA 7th Edition)

Gallup. The session also aimed to
guide students on how to effectively utilize ChatGPT as a research and learning support tool in both senior high school and higher education. The seminar was conducted on January 9, 2026, at 2:00 PM, at the school gymnasium of Proverbs Ville Academy Foundation Incorporated. Out of 219 enrolled ICT strand students, a total of 182 students successfully registered and participated, based on the consolidated registration data.

Overall, the seminar achieved its intended objectives by increasing students’ awareness of AI tools, promoting ethical AI usage, and equipping participants with practical prompt-engineering skills. Students actively engaged in discussions and activities, demonstrating improved understanding of how AI can responsibly support academic work and future career pathways.

The increasing integration of artificial intelligence in education highlights the urgent need for both AI utilization skills and AI literacy among students. According to the 2024 Global AI Student Survey, which involved more than 3,800 students from 16 countries, 86% of students use AI in their studies, with 24% using it daily and 54% using it at least weekly. While AI significantly supports learning, there is a growing need to provide structured guidance on understanding AI technologies and their ethical implications (University of the Philippines, May 2025).

In the Philippine context, the Philippine Institute for Development Studies (PIDS) reports that digital literacy among Filipinos remains limited. Only around 40% of individuals possess at least one of the six information and communications technology (ICT) skills monitored under the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This gap underscores the importance of early intervention through educational initiatives that promote responsible and informed technology use. In response to these national and global challenges, Tech Tree aims to align its programs with broader educational and digital development goals in the Philippines. Consequently, Team Genesis of Tech Tree initiated a student seminar in Cebu entitled “Lamdag: Illuminating Digital Learning, AI Awareness, and Future Careers.” Lamdag, a Cebuano word meaning “enlightenment,” reflects the program’s core mission of fostering clarity, awareness, and informed understanding of AI, digital literacy, and emerging technologies among students.

#TechTree
#AIinEducation
#DigitalSkills
#FutureReady
Fulfilling experience! AI is shaping how our children learn, communicate, and even play. From smart tutoring systems to AI-powered games, technology is no longer just a tool—it’s a constant presence in their daily lives.

As parents, we are the first role models in showing children how to balance this new reality. It’s not enough to limit screen time; we need to teach digital wisdom—how to question what they see online, how to use AI responsibly, and how to keep empathy and creativity at the center of their growth. AI can help with homework, translations, or even emotional support apps, but it should never replace the human connection at the heart of family.

The Age of AI reminds us that parenting is about more than keeping up with technology—it’s about nurturing timeless values.
